Hello,
I'm a London-based freelance journalist and regular Schön! Magazine contributor with over four years of editorial experience. Recently graduating from Central Saint Martins with a First Class Honours in Fashion Journalism, my specialised subjects are art and fashion history, subcultures, social justice, sustainability, LGBTQ+ and Fetish culture. From articles on student sex work and beauty satire to Austenshire and the 'Lolita effect', my interests are broad and I throw myself into the research process as a rule of thumb. I also regularly consult authors, academics and experts in their fields to produce work that's as focused and succinct as possible. For a moving investigative piece on cotton laundering in Boohoo's supply chain, I spoke to the brand's Global Head of Corporate Affairs Cheryl Chung, Conservative MP Bob Seely, investment analyst Adrian Lowcock and the U.K. Director of World Uyghur Congress Rahima Mahmut among others.
I've recently produced a film about Fetish fashion and subculture. Named Saturnalia: Unbinding Fetish Fashion, it traces the origins of Fetish-wear from underground kinks and subcultures to high-street staples. The project has required extensive archival research on LGBTQ+ subcultures, filming at Fetish raves and London Fashion Week and dialogues with sex workers, designers and subculture forecasters. It also includes interviews with legendary photographers Nick Knight and Derek Ridgers, former i-D editor Caryn Franklin and Skin Two editor Timothy Woodward, and fetish artists Parma Ham and Miss Meatface.  The film is available to watch on Girls in Film.
Thanks to my time at Polimoda Fashion & Business school in Florence, I also have a background in graphic design, styling and art direction, and enjoy producing zines. I invite you to explore a selection of my zines here.
Please email me for more information, commissions or to collaborate.
